Phoenix Contact Automation Laboratory

The PHOENIX Industrial Automation Laboratory was established in 2005 with the support of PHOENIX CONTACT and has since undergone numerous additions and upgrades to reach its current state. The laboratory is equipped with ILC 150ETH PLC sets, along with computers set up for programming and communication purposes.

These ILC-150ETH PLCs, which use the Interbus communication system, are connected to a network via Ethernet. This allows students to program the PLCs quickly and without delay; all PLCs can communicate with one another, and SCADA applications can be easily implemented.

Currently, there are 21 PLC sets in the lab, one of which is reserved for the lab supervisor’s use. For more detailed information about these sets, each kit includes:

1 SMPS power supply (24V)
1 Ethernet-connected CPU unit
1 output unit (8-bit)
1 analog input (2-channel, 0–10 V)
1 analog output (0–10 V)
1 Analog Voltmeter (10V scale, connected to the analog output)
1 potentiometer providing 0–10 V voltage
1 x 8-position switch panel

In addition, the laboratory is continuously updated by PHOENIX CONTACT to meet today’s needs.
