Internship Credit Recognition

Our students may have their professional experience counted toward the required internships they must complete. Applications must be submitted in person to the department secretary’s office. Students must have insurance records under the occupational codes and job titles listed in the table below. Applications from students with insurance records not listed in the table will be rejected.

Application Documents

  1. Application Form for Recognition of an Internship
    • This application form, to be completed by the student, must include: faculty/department and student information, the name of the company where the student worked, the date range and number of days for which the student wishes to have the internship credited, the type of internship, a statement confirming that the student did not attend any classes or take any exams during the specified date range, contact information, and a description of the duties and tasks performed at the workplace. The application must be signed in ink.
  2. SGK Registration and Service History Document
  3. A duty certificate issued by the institution, bearing the institution’s stamp and an engineer’s signature
    • This document, which must be prepared by the institution where the insured individual gained professional experience, must detail the dates, department, position, and title held during employment, and the work performed must be explained in detail by the responsible engineer.
    • The responsible engineer signing the document must hold a bachelor’s degree from one of the departments specified in the “Internship Implementation Principles” (depending on the type of internship to be counted).
    • The responsible engineer must also state their first name, last name, job title, and the university, college, and department from which they received their bachelor’s degree.
    • The document must be prepared on the company’s letterhead.
  4. Course Schedule or Exam Calendar
    • Documents such as a course schedule (covering the internship dates) or an exam schedule must be provided to prove that there are no classes or exams scheduled during the period for which the internship is to be credited.
  5. Internship Logbook
    • An internship logbook must be prepared in accordance with the format required for mandatory internships.
  6. Signed internship record forms for previous internships (Only for those wishing to have work completed in the laboratories, workshops, and application centers of higher education institutions counted as an internship)
    • Previously completed internships must be documented with internship record forms approved by the committee. A copy of this document may be requested from the committee evaluating the internship.
